The Genuine Grip Steel Toe Shoes for Men area casual looking work shoe that offers serious protection. The upper is constructed using genuine leather and is resistant to oil and water for added durability. A mesh lining combined with the Dri-Lex® covered footbed creates a healthy foot environment by wicking moisture and reducing the growth of bacteria and fungi. The Walking On Air Footbed also features aerodynamic air channels to guide the flow of air from the contoured heel to the forefoot where the most perspiration occurs. The ergonomic design and anatomical shape of the footbed reducing stress at the joints and lower back when standing on hard surfaces for extended periods. Additional shock absorption comes from the lightweight midsole while the embedded plastic shank provides added rigidity. These shoes are finished with the patent pending Genuine Grip Slip Resistant Rubber Outsole and a protective steel toe that meets the ASTM standards.
What is Slip Resistance?
- There are currently no "pass/fail" requirements for slip resistance testing - only general industry standards
- On a scale where 0.0 is the absence of friction and 1.0 is very high friction, a higher score means better slip resistance
- A slip resistance value of 0.50 on wet vinyl floors is generally classified as slip resistant
- The US footwear industry quotes a value minimum 0.25 to 0.30 as a safety margin for outsoles tested on quarry tile floors that are greasy, oily, and wet
